TITLE : TOURISM

tourist on vacation :D

“Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world” by Gustave Flaubert. Tourism is a travel for recreational, leisure, or business purposes. The world Tourism Organization define tourist as people travelling to and staying in a places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other purposes. Besides that, tourism has become a popular global leisure activity. Tourism is important for some cases and vital for many countries. Tourism had recognized by Manila Declaration on World Tourism of 1980 as an activity essential to life of nations because of its direct effects on the social, cultural, educational and economic sectors of national societies. With tourism, it brings a large amount of income in payment. There are also goods and services available. Due to that, it creates opportunities for employment in the service sector of the economy with tourism. These services industries include transportation services, such as airlines, cruise ships and taxicabs. Moreover, hospitality services such as accommodations, including hotels and resorts and entertainment venues, for example amusement parks, casinos, shopping malls, music venues and theatres.

visit Malaysia !

To illustrate one of the places that can be visited in this world is the country that is known with the multicultural citizen named, Malaysia. It is very well known with many races and religious. Malays, Indians, Chinese and many other ethnic groups live together in peace and harmony. In other words, multiculturalism made Malaysia a gastronomical paradise and home to hundreds of colourful festivals. As a people, Malaysians are very relaxed, warm and friendly. Geographically, Malaysia has 13 states, 11 states in peninsular Malaysia and two federal territories which is Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur that is separated by the South China Sea. Sabah and Sarawak, on the island of Borneo that is situated at the east of Malaysia and the third federal territory, the island of Labuan. West Malaysia is bordered by Thailand to the north, Singapore to the south, the South China Sea to the east. East Malaysia shares its southern border with Indonesia, its northern border with Brunei, and is cradled by the South China Sea to the west and north, and the Sulu Sea to the northeast. Malaysia is pampered with a warm tropical climate and the weather is strongly influenced by the Northeast and the Southwest Monsoon. The period of May to September is usually a drier period and rainy seasons between November and February.
Malaysia

One of Malaysia's key attractions is its extreme contrasts which further add to this theme of ‘diversity’. Towering skyscrapers look down upon wooden houses built and five-stars hotels sit just metres away from ancient reefs. For example, The world's tallest freestanding twin towers that is situated in the Kuala Lumpur City Center (KLCC). It has 88-story towers and 1,482 feet above the city skyline. It is also connected by a sky-bridge on the 41st floor. The sky-bridge is open to public from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. It takes 41 seconds to shoot up to the midpoint of Petronas Twin Towers. Tickets to the skybridge run out fast, but it is not every day that you can get to feel on top of the world.

Malaysia truly Asia :)

Next, if you are up for a foodie adventure Malaysia is the best place ever to be visited as there are a lot of dishes that is prepared there. Malaysian food is not one particular kind of food, but instead a unique culinary tastes and textures. Its various dishes originate from the multi-ethnic population that has created an exotic cuisine unlike any other. Such as, nasi lemak is a Malay cuisine, roti canai and curry from Indian cuisine and yong tau fu is a Chinese cuisine. From aromatic Malay dishes to hot Chinese delicacies and spicy Indian food, Malaysia is a food lover’s paradise.
lots of foods. yummy!

Due to the diverse culture inside Malaysia, therefore, the existence of multicultural events and festivals are celebrated by its people. Each races has their own event and festivals. Muslims in Malaysia prepare for one of the holiest celebrations in the Islamic calendar, the Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Hari Raya means ‘day of celebration’ while Aidifitri is known as 'festival of fast-breaking.' Chinese New Year is also celebrated in Malaysia. It is celebrated by the Chinese people. It is a joyous occasion marked by family reunions. During the festival, giving away of mandarin oranges is a must, it is a symbol of prosperity and good luck for the recipients. Another highlight is the traditional lion dance that will always be seen when Chinese New Year is coming. For the Hindu community in Malaysia and around the world, the 'Deepavali' or 'Diwali' marks one of the most significant dates on the calendar. The celebration includes visits  to the temples and pray with their household. Besides that, Christmas is also celebrated here. Malaysian Christians celebrate Christmas on December 25th each year just like all the Christians in other parts of the world. Moreover, in Malaysia not only Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Chinese New Year, Deepavali and Christmas but also Hari Raya Aidil Adha, Thaipusam, Gawai Dayak, Prophet Mohammed's Birthday, Lantern and Mooncake Festival, Wesak Day and much more that is celebrated there.
multiculture

In a nut shell, the State Governments in all country are now, also busy in developing the places of tourist interest in their respective States. They are planning to bring about new schemes for effecting tourist complexes by joining a number of tourist spots by means of road-link, bus-service and much more. It is hoped that tourism in all country will highly develop by the combined efforts of the Central Government and the State Governments. We as citizens should work together with governments in an effort to develop and expand the tourism sector of our country and not just sit around and watch the governments do all the work by themselves. With this collaboration between governments and citizens, our country can move forward to be came a better country in the future and can sit at the same level with other developed countries around the world. In other words, our country’s name will be well-known in the universe. "Anyone who imagines they can work alone winds up surrounded by nothing but rivals, without companions. The fact is, no one ascends alone" by Lance Amstrong. So, see the world. It is more fantastic than any dream made or paid for in factories. Ask for no guarantees, ask for no security.

vacation here I come ! where should I go? hehe.

1st ASSIGNMENT EVER !!

BLINKKK BLINKKK BLIKKKK >.<  ( got 9 over 10 ! hee :p )

TITLE : VANDALISM

vandalism

The word vandalism is synonym among the public. Referring to the second edition Oxford dictionary edited by Miranda Steel, vandalism is define as a person who damages somebody else’s property on purpose. Other sources also give the meaning of vandalism as the attack or damage of property of any kind including virtual space with no other purpose than destruction or disruption of the said property or virtual space. Historically, vandalism has been justified by painter  Gustave Courbet as destruction of monuments symbolizing "war and conquest". Therefore, it is often done as an expression of contempt, creativity, or both. Gustave Courbet's attempt, during the 1871 Paris Commune, to dismantle the Vendôme Column, a symbol of the past Napoleon III authoritarian Empire, was one of the most celebrated events of vandalism. Nietzsche himself would meditate after the Commune on the "fight against culture", taking as example the intentional burning of the Tuileries Palace on May 23, 1871. "The criminal fight against culture is only the reverse side of a criminal culture" wrote Klossowski  after quoting Nietzsche.
Vandalism of public property is rampant throughout the whole world. How many of us have wanted to use the public telephones, only to find that they are out of order? The same goes with public toilets, vending machines, salting lawns, cutting trees without permission, egg throwing, breaking windows, arson, spraying paint on others' properties, tagging, placing glue into locks, tire slashing, keying (scratching) paint, ransacking a property, flooding a house by clogging a sink, leaving the water running and other amenities that are for the use of the general public. Based on the research by Professor Stanfford Rollin from University of Newcastle, he had done a research about the percentage of vandalism that is rampant throughout United Kingdom. In the research, he stated that the percentage of vandalism had been rising rapidly from year 2010 until 2012. In year 2010,the percentage is about 36% and for year 2011 it had been increased 5% compared to year 2010. However, in year 2012 it became more worst as it had risen up to 25%.
Vandalism is bad for many reasons. It ruins property and the quality of whatever has been vandalized. Also, to pay for the damage done, it cost taxpayer money to pay for all the damages. It also sad, for the people who worked hard to build whatever was vandalized. Vandalism can also affect your permanent record. It also brings down moral, it is highly disrespectful and gives you a really bad reputation. The places that are usually vandalized are public buildings, schools, parks and stations like the railway station and bus stations. The things that are damaged include street signs, benches and litter bins. Who are those vandals? Many people are quick to point their fingers at the teenagers. However, they are not completely  correct. Those responsible for vandalism are people who have no respect for public property. They disregard the law and do not care about the community at all.
There are many reasons why people carry out these acts of vandalism. Although most vandals do not have a clear motive for their acts, studies show that basic social problems and attitudes are at the root of the vandalism. Some of them are mentally ill or destructive by nature. Others do it because they are against the authorities or angry at society. Some do it just for fun without thought to the inconvenience caused to others. Moreover, Grown up with a low IQ people, most people vandalize because they're bored as hell or they have nothing better to do. Even, could be because of depression, defiance, alliance, revenge, boredom, drug and alcohol abuse, disciplinary problems, personal problems and racial or political conflicts. But the most of them do it because they think that by doing that kind of wrong doings it is a ‘cool’ thingy.
Besides that, government is trying hard to stop the vandalism. At the moment, punishment for vandalism is fine. Due to that, vandal keeps growing up as they do not mind of the punishment that had stated in the law. Perhaps the government should impose a havier punishment. For instance, the authorities could impose a jail sentence for 2 years. Therefore, they will be afraid to do those things. Moreover, they can held a mandatory social work. With this, those criminals can learn from the mistakes that they have done in the past. In addition, high rate of penalty should be inflicted so that they would not do the vandalism as what they had to pay imposed a high penalty to those wrong doings.
Furthermore, government could also educate the public on civic consciousness. Such as, in schools, civic and citizenship subject should be thought to the pupils so that they can learn it when they are still young. Once, they have used with it, vandalism can be reduce. In this subject, student will be thought to be a responsible and care about the community. Not only the government should take care about these problems but the citizen also should take action to reduce this puzzle. The citizen can lighten the government burden by doing their part just as reporting these vandals to the authorities to take action on them
How can I keep vandalism from getting to me? As a parent, you are considered responsible for your own children’s behaviour. Setting a good example is the best way to influence your children to behave properly. Such as, respect the law, plus other people’s rights and property, do not offer excuses for lawlessness, do not break the laws, protect your personal property, keep your garage, shed and car doors locked, use outdoor lighting and lastly report an incidents like a suspicious persons or unusual activities near your home at an odd hours.
Be aware! Young teenagers will probably be exposed to vandals in their school. Make sure to discourage them from participating in their activities. Give them enough attention like give them plenty of love as well as discipline. Encourage their activities, recognize their successes and help them learn from their failures. Next, be aware of who their friends are and know how they spend their time. Moreover, if they began to develop serious personal problems such as difficulties in relationship and drug or alcohol problems, give professional counselling. It can keep minor problems from becoming major difficulties. So, now you know how vandalism can get to you.  Take the time to protect your family, your community and your possessions from vandals.  Make crime more trouble than it's worth.

FAVOURITE CARTOON :*

toinkkk toinnkk toinnkkkkkkkk!! im back:)

I believe that everybody has their own favourite cartoon. No matter how boring that cartoon is but still there's someone will love and like it very much. As for me, i have a favourite cartoon also and it is TELETUBBIES !! I love this cartoon so much. Its characters are so cute and adorable like a cuddly bear. Their characteristics is also cute like their appearance. They are 4 teletubbies TINKY WINKY , DIPSY , LAA-LAA and PO . Besides that, there's another character that i like and it is NOO NOO the vacuum cleaner that is so cute in blue!

tinky winky

He is the first teletubbies. He is also the largest and oldest of the Teletubbies, is covered in purple terrycloth, and has a triangular antenna on his head. He is notable for the red luggage he always carries.

dipsy

The second teletubbies is green and is named "Dipsy" because his antenna resembles a dipstick. Dipsy is the most stubborn of the Teletubbies, and will sometimes refuse to go along with the other Teletubbies' group opinion. His face is also notably darker than the rest of the Teletubbies, and the creators have stated that he is Black.

laa-laa

The third. She is yellow, and has a curly antenna. She likes to sing and dance, and is often seen to look out for the other Teletubbies.

po

The fourth. She is the smallest and youngest of the Teletubbies, is red, and has an antenna shaped like a stick used for blowing soap bubbles.

noo noo

Noo noo seems to be both the Teletubbies' guardian and housekeeper, due to its resemblance to a vacuum cleaner, which is its principal purpose in the house. Noo-noo hardly ever ventures outside, instead remaining indoors and constantly cleaning with its sucker-like nose. It does not speak like the other characters, instead communicating through a series of slurping and sucking noises. At times, Noo-noo gets annoyed with the Teletubbies' antics and can vacuum their food or toys. This usually prompts the Teletubbies to scold Noo-noo through a cry of "Naughty Noo-noo!" For me, i like when noo noo sucking the teletubbies cookies that is so cute like a smiley face.

From the characters that i mention above, the character that i loved the most is LAA-LAA !! i love her because she's so cute and sometimes like a baby. Love to sing and dance always. She is also cute when wearing her skirts.
laa-laa wearing skirts

Moreover, their house is so cool ! i really love when they are having a shooting in the house. There are so many gajets in the house that is so modern.

The last thing that i'll never forget is the baby sun. It always appear in the opening and the ending of the story, with a baby voice that sounds like it is laughing 'hehehe' like that. It was a cute opening and ending of the story and it sounds a bit funny when i have grown up now days but yet it's fun.
The baby sun

So i guess, it's enough for todays entry. Although i have grown up but still i love this cartoon very much. I bet that if this cartoon is still on air i'll be the first person in my house to watch this cartoon from the beginning episodes till the end. If i found their doll anywhere in this world i definately will buy it and place it in my room and nobody can touch it because it is so precious to me.

who am i ?

brownteddyemoticon  errrrmmmmchaaak! :)

From the very start I should say that it is not an easy thing to speak about myself as it is hard to have a look at yourself from aside, but at the same time who knows you better than you yourself do? girlemo

I am a girl of eighteen.People called me Itrah but my full name is Ikhwannur Itrah Binti Tajul Aripin. When I look at myself in the mirror I see a dark brown eyes and a slender figure. As to my appearance I'm rather short and slim. I have never thought I'm a beauty, I wish I were more beautiful. I think that I'm even calm and modest rather than a tempered girl. But sometimes I can lose my temper and become either angry or sad. I like staying alone and sometimes I retreat into my shell. But at the same time I like my friends, I like to laugh and joke. I have got a sense of humour. It means I understand humour and appreciate it.

There are many things in our life I like and some I dislike. I like when everything is OK. Being happy is one way of being wise. I like to study because knowledge is useful sometimes. I'm fond of reading as it gives not only knowledge, but also wonderful moments of joy and pleasure. I am neither short nor tall, so I like to wear high-heeled shoes, trousers or jeans and skirts sometimes.

I was born on the 15th of February 1995 in the town of Kuala Kangsar where I live now together with my parents, two brothers and my one and only sister. My early years, which I remember badly, were typical of a child living in a town. I was born into a family of a teacher. My mum is a teacher at SK Clifford and my dad is a lecturer at USM.

Six month after i was been born, my family and i flew to United Kingdom as my father had to further his studies in master and PHD. There, I was sent to a kindergarten called Canning Street Primary School at the age of three. we stayed there for 5 years. When i recall all my memories back then, it was very fun staying there because the way they study is different then here.

On 31st August 2000 , we're back to our homeland safely. Here, my father sent me to SR
Al-Furqan as i had to learn a bit some about religious as i am a bit lack about that. There, i learn how to read iqra' , alquran , 'fardu ain and fardhu kifayah' , and i also learn to memorize some 'surah' . After 4 years studied there, i had to transfered to another school that is more closer to my house, it is SK Datin Khadijah. I finished my primary school there and futher my studies in a higher level in a secondary school called SMK Raja Perempuan Kelsom. I ended my school life there as a student and this year 'insyallah' i'll be a student in a University.

so i guess, it is enough for the time being.i think the entry is a bit long  but thanks for reading it.Last but not least i would like to share some quotes that fits this entry.
